One of our most exciting giveaways over the last several months featured the drum & bass legend Roni Size, and the iconic Bristol clothing brand Inkh. Loads of you entered the competition to win some signed Inkh. merch as well as two signed Roni Size albums, and we’re delighted to say that we were able to donate £200 to Bristol Children’s Hospital Cancer Unit off the back of it…
What was the Roni Size x Inkh. giveaway?
The Winzum Roni Size x Inkh. giveaway was an absolute dream for drum & bass heads, as well as street wear enthusiasts too. We teamed up with the seminal artist and brand to give you guys a chance to win a limited edition sunset fade Inkh. DUSK t-shirt signed by the one and only Roni Size.
But this wasn’t it either, because we also threw in a Roni Size Reprazent Live at Colston Hall album and also a Roni Size Take Kontrol album too. Both, of course, signed by Roni Size himself!
Roni Size: Legend of UK underground music
Do we really need to introduce the legendary Roni Size? A figure that has been absolutely instrumental to the rise of drum & bass, as well as underground UK music culture in general. For almost three decades he has been a genuine trailblazer within the drum & bass world, pushing the sound forwards in the 90s alongside other important figures like Goldie.
Roni Size and his musical ensemble Reprazent (also including the critically acclaimed DJ Die and Krust) were going from strength to strength in the mid 1990s, but it was the release of album New Forms that really took them to new levels. About our donation to Bristol Children’s Hospital Cancer Unit
Off the back of the Winzum Roni Size x Inkh. Giveaway we were delighted to be able to donate £200 to the Bristol Children’s Hospital Cancer Unit, something that the Roni Size collaboration made possible. The hospital is going an absolutely instrumental job at the moment, helping kids and their families through one of the most difficult experiences you can have.
There are loads of exciting new developments happening over at the Bristol Children’s Hospital Cancer Unit too, such as the redesign of the Ocean Unit, which will become a sea-themed cancer treatment ward designed with the young patients completely in mind. From everybody here at Winzum, we wish them the best of luck with everything!
