The 21st century has ushered in a whole new way of life for most of us, and much of that is down to the constantly advancing world of technology and gadgets.
Seriously, can you imagine a world without your smartphone, for example? Or without a laptop? You’ve got to admit it… We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to gadgets these days!
Some of the best competition prizes have been to do with new hi-tech gadgets, something that rings especially true for the popular Channel 5 program The Gadget Show. Their competition prizes routinely offer the crème-de-la-crème of the tech world and are a dream come true for many UK compers [what is a comper?]. Sony 77” 4K OLED TV
Back in 2018 The Gadget Show threw an incredibly exciting competition for smart TV enthusiasts, offering a brand new Sony 77” 4K OLED TV. This particular TV is worth just less than £4,000 new, so already this is a pretty enticing prize!
Things get better when you take into account its incredible size and clarity too. Who needs the cinema when you’ve got one of these, eh? Whoever won this The Gadget Show competition prize was very lucky indeed.
Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch Laptop With Touch Bar
The Gadget Show also launched a competition to win an Apple MacBook Pro 15inch Laptop With Touch Bar in Series 28; one of the newest and highest specs new Apple laptops on the market these days.
Whilst some MacBook Pro models don’t have all that many obvious updates, Apple really pushed the boat out with this one, adding in a touch bar on the keyboard with a variety of neat shortcuts.
Nintendo Switch
Last year in 2019 The Gadget Show competition had many high profile tech prizes for competition entrants to try their luck with, however none of them were nearly as fun as the incredibly Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Wii turned many heads when it was released over a decade ago, and finally Nintendo have levelled up on it with the Switch.
The Nintendo Switch can either be played as a portable handheld console, or hooked up to your TV in the same way as you would use an Xbox or Playstation. The possibilities are endless!
iRobot Robot 17 Vacuum Cleaner
Do you ever just get completely sick of doing the vacuum cleaning? It can be a pretty dull chore, but for one lucky The Gadget Show competition entrant it is well and truly a thing of the past.
In Series 30 one of the competition prizes was an iRobot Robot 17 Vacuum Cleaner, a device that automatically vacuums your entire home by itself whenever you program it to. Nice!
