It’s been a strange old year has 2020, and one of the most noticeable differences for many fun and music loving people out there has been the lack of any music festivals whatsoever. Obviously with a global pandemic music festivals like the iconic Glastonbury certainly aren’t the best idea, but god do we miss them!

Over at Winzum we’re big fans of anything that’s fun and ties into music, art and culture, so the lack of festivals has hit hard, and we’re sure you’re probably the same. It got us thinking about why musical festivals are so good, so we racked our brains and came up with a few examples. Music festivals are the perfect way to live in the moment

With all the stresses of modern life it can be extremely difficult to live in the moment, but with music festivals it can truly be difficult not to live in the moment! In many ways music festivals like Glastonbury or Boomtown are mini utopias, with all manner of things going on pretty much everywhere you look.

And that’s without even the music – once you throw in the incredible live music performances from a range of different bands, singers and DJs things get even better. Craving a weekend completely disconnected from normal day-to-day reality where you’ll live entirely in the moment? Music festivals are the answer!

The line-ups at music festivals often bring together several of the best acts

Another reason why music festivals are so highly regarded by so many people these days is that they often give us all the chance to see several of our favourite acts all in one place. Seriously, just take a look at the Glastonbury 2020 (not 2021) line-up, there are an outrageous amount of top-tier artists on there!

Furthermore, to see several of your favourite artists at individual concerts would set you back a lot more money overall than a festival ticket. Not only are music festivals ludicrously good fun, but they’re also pretty good bang for your buck too.

Some of the strongest friendships can be made during music festivals

Let’s be honest here, we’ve all got at least one friend who we met at a music festival and became incredibly close with. There’s just something about the atmosphere at a music festival, it really does help to foster friendships that last for a long time.

Maybe it’s the many wonderful shared memories, or maybe it’s the shared pain of trudging through the mud in the rain. Whatever it is, there’s no arguing how great friendships made at music festivals can be!
