Riddles for kids and riddles for adults aren’t exactly the most popular things these days, however they actually have so many benefits. Riddles: A long and interesting history

Before we get into examples our favourite riddles we thought it would be interesting to take a quick look at the history of riddles. Riddles are some of the oldest examples of human writing in the world, with the oldest fully preserved riddle dating back to 2350 BC Sumeria. In all likelihood, however, riddles were around for thousands of years before this too, especially seeing as most riddles are remembered through talking, rather than the written word.

Why should I care about riddles in the 21st century?

Here at Winzum we’re very ready for the question – why should I care about riddles in the 21st century? For many of us riddles are simply an old relic of the so-called “olden times”, and it probably doesn’t sound particularly cool to be a master of riddles either.

But here’s the thing: learning a few riddles can do wonders for your memory, cognition and ability to amaze people at a party.
